The stereotype for spanish nightlife is 100% true. They really do go out around 2a.m and end their night around 7. I found this out when I studied abroad in Valencia and made the common American mistake of going out around 11p.m my first night. I've been here three weekends, and every Friday night so far has ended around 6a.m. I honestly don't know how they live this lifestyle as every Saturday I have gotten up around 3p.m. If you know me, you know I'm a morning person. No matter how late in the U.S I would stay out, whether it be 2 or 3am (yes, in comparison to Spain we are weaklings), I would automatically get up around 8 or 9am to start my day. I couldn't stand the idea of sleeping in as I did not want to waste a day. The spanish nightlife is indeed crazy and so much fun. So far I have been to the churruca, vinos, and arenal area. I've only been to one discoteca Loft, and the rest of the time, have stuck with bars. I've been going out with roommates, friends from my program, and natives I've met here so every night has been quite interesting to say the least but so so much fun. Just from observation, Churruca seems to be a younger crowed maybe high school-university and doesn't really start getting packed until 3a.m Vinos seems to be the college town as drinks are very cheap while the Arenal appears to be a bit more classy and expensive with a post-graduate vibe. I've had so much fun in all three areas and can't wait to go to new places and meet new people.
